Huistenbosch Kaas Cake

The best-selling souvenir at Huistenbosch, however, is Kaas Cake. Huh, what? If you think about it, Kaas Cake is the Dutch word for cheesecake. I thought it was a cheesecake, but that's not the case, they say it's the best selling cheesecake, so let's try it.

Incidentally, the Netherlands is famous for its Gouda cheese and is the world's largest exporter of cheese. Wow, it's such a small country. Yes, the Netherlands is the second largest agricultural exporter in the world. But it's a bit like the processing trade, where the imported raw materials are processed and exported...

When I opened the octagonal paper box with Aunt Annie's(*1) portrait on it, a brightly baked, tart cheesecake came out. When you smell it, it smells like cheesecake. When I tried it, it was thicker than regular cheesecake, but rather closer to the cheese itself, or something like that. The rest is a bit hard, and if I had to sum it up in one word, it would be a baked cheesecake. Well, it doesn't have any other special characteristics, but it might be quite tasty.

The box is also very nice, so I think it's suitable for souvenirs.

*1) A long time ago, in Midelburg, Holland, there was a lady who was very good at making sweets, and the front of her house was always full of people who wanted cakes. And her name is "Auntie Annie"...

Incidentally, Huistenbosch was once famous for being a "shame spot". After that, the company went bankrupt twice, but in 2010, the management structure was changed and the company was revived and is now one of the most popular tourist destinations. (2017 note).
