Ise specialty, "Ofuku-Mochi". When we think of Ise's specialty, we associate it with Akafuku, but we shouldn't forget Ofuku-Mochi. I have reported on Akafuku in the past, but this Ofuku-Mochi is really similar to Akafuku in appearance.

The website says that it has been in business for over 200 years, so that's newer than the 300 years of Akafuku. However, the fact that they have been making these rice cakes for over 200 years is pretty amazing. After all, they must have survived because they are delicious. Well, then, let's eat.

Whoa! The outer box also has the same atmosphere as the Akafuku, so you might make a mistake.

When I opened the box, I found a wave-shaped rice cake that looked just like Akafuku. Oh, there is about twice the size of a rice cake than the other side, and there is freshness in the bean jam. When I scooped it up with the plastic spatula that came with it, I found the rice cake sticking to the bottom of the board, and it looked like it was topped with koshi-an. But when I peeled it off without difficulty and ate it, it was so-so delicious.

The difference between anko-mochi and regular anko-mochi is that the anko is rich in water and has a slightly whitish glow. It's not mentioned in the ingredients, but it seems to have a salty taste to it too. Well, if you think it's a good thing, it's also delicious. Yeah, you need some tea. Which is better, Akafuku or Akafuku? That's something you can't say.

The company says it has redesigned the packaging of its 2018 "Ofuku Mochi" from a wooden box to film packaging. As a result, the deadline for consumption has been extended from three days to seven days, and mail-order sales are also expanding.
