Kamomeno-Tamago

When we think of famous sweets in Iwate, this is the first thing that comes to mind. In the past, when I was a child, I was so impressed that there were such delicious sweets out there. You might think that if you don't go to Iwate, you won't be able to find them, but if you look carefully, you can find them in souvenir shops all over Tohoku these days.

Ofunato, where this shop is located, is the port of Sanriku, a town of the sea. It's natural to use the seagull motif. Well, still, I'm glad I made eggs out of candy. It doesn't seem to be a simple process either.

When I opened the package and sniffed it, the scent of white chocolate wrapped around me drifted around with a whimper. When I tried it on, there was a moist yellow cream inside, and it filled my mouth with a nettlesome spread. What can I say, it has a Western feel to it and it's also very tasty. It's not so sweet (but probably sweet) and is loved by everyone from children to adults and the elderly. (Am I being too complimentary?).

Oh, it's so good, let's eat another one. And another cup of tea. It's full of nutrition, so if you eat too much of it, you could get fat.

Afterword)
While watching the news, I heard that the "Kamomeno-Tamago Factory Festival" will be held on the last Saturday and Sunday in September, with all-you-can-eat buffet, factory tours and other events. (2012)
