Gifu Prefecture is a landlocked, sealess prefecture in the Tokai region. The prefectural capital is Gifu City. The prefecture's fish is ayu.
The speciality is, after all, Fuyu Persimmon, a specialty of the area. Also, there are many other kinds of rice cakes, such as gohei-mochi, which are available in several prefectures in the area.
