Gohei-Mochi

Gohei-Mochi has been eaten in Nagano, Gifu and Aichi for a long time. Even though it is a rice cake, it is a unique kind of rice cake made from "Uruchi rice" (ordinary rice). The shape varies from region to region, but the ingredients and the cooking method of baking it with sauce are all the same. It is said that in the days when white rice was precious, it was eaten when there was something to celebrate. It is also said that it is still eaten today when rice is harvested.

Well, speaking of rice cakes made from the same "Uruchi rice", I think it would be easier to understand "Damako-mochi" in Akita and its relative "Kiritanpo" in the whole country. Well, as a rice cake lover, I'd like to say, "Why not glutinous rice?

When you open the package, you can smell sesame dare soy sauce, and if you look closely, you can see the rice on the mochi. The surface is crispy because it is baked and the inside is soft. It's like a dango, and it's also like Akita's "Kiritanpo". Isn't this miso, soy sauce, and sesame sauce tare what determines the deliciousness of this mochi? I think so too.

It's true that it's not a grilled onigiri, but a mochi. No, I think it's Dango. Hmm, let's just say that it's a rice cake that has been simplified in production.
