Saitama Prefecture is located in the central part of the Kanto region. No Sea Prefecture. The prefectural capital is Saitama City.
Fukaya City in the northwestern part of the prefecture is the hottest city in Japan (until 2013) with the highest temperature in the country at 40.9 degrees Celsius. And Saitama Prefecture is the number one in Japan in the amount of ice cream shipment (2006) (there are Akagi Dairy and Futaba Foods).
Their specialties include Soka-Senbei(rice crackers), Fukaya green onions, Gokabo, and Yamada udon which you can find anywhere in Saitama.
Tourist attractions include the Musashi Hills Hills Ridge Forest Park, Nagatoro, and Koedo Kawagoe (Kashiya Yokocho).
