Akita Prefecture is located in the western part of the Tohoku region, with a climate on the Sea of Japan side. The prefectural capital is Akita City. The prefecture's flower is buttercup.

Apparently, there are as many Akita specialties as sung to the Akita Ondo. Well, it's famous for Hatahata, Inaniwa udon, Kiritanpo nabe, and Iburi-Gakko.

Aside from the food, there are also Namahage, the Akita beauty, and the Akita dog, the loyal dog Hachiko. Also, the dreary winter sky. Oh, there was also the Nyuto hot spring, wasn't there?
